Warning sounds – here’s how you know you need to repair your garage door
As you can imagine, there is always some type of noise when a garage door operates. Even if you maintain it perfectly and lubricate every day some humming is unavoidable.

In fact, the garage doors making noises is something most owners ignore. Unfortunately, the assumption that the sound should be there can lead to various issues. Essentially, hearing the noise every single time your door operates makes you complacent about their performance.

Until, one day, you have to call the service to replace your door that broke down. And this can cost an unsuspecting homeowner a lot of money.

The simple fact that your door is opening and closing as you expect it is not sufficient to assume everything is perfect. If you pay attention, you might notice signs that something is wrong, or will be wrong shortly. And these signs usually come in the form of noises that should not be there. If you here any of these sounds call a garage door repair company immediately!

So, here are some of the noises that should alarm you and actions you can take.
* Grating: If your garage door makes a loud grating sound it can be an indication of bent spring coils. If you hear this sound, make sure to call a professional service as soon as possible. This is not something you should attempt to fix yourself as it might be very dangerous.

* Squealing: Door is not balanced. If you hear squealing noises from your door you should do a balance check. Turn the opener off and manually move the door halfway. They should remain in balance. If they don’t, you might have to fix them.

* Grinding: If you hear a grinding sound it could mean that the rollers are worn out and that it is time to replace them.

* Rumbling: A rumbling sound is usually an indication of loose spring tensions. Those are not something you should fix yourself.

* Banging: Having defective panels or hinges might lead to banging sounds. This is usually rather easy to fix and it does not cost a fortune.

* Ticking: The bearings are starting to wear out. This is something you can do yourself if you are very crafty. However, we always recommend hiring a professional to avoid accidentally causing an even bigger issue.

Alternatively, there are some sounds that come from the opener. These are:
* Rattling: This comes from a loose chain or support rails
* Grinding: If the opener is grinding you could fix that by lubricating certain parts.
* Straining: If you can hear the motor straining that might indicate lack of horsepower or a defect with the motor.

Now, we understand that it is not easy to differentiate between all of these noises. However, hearing any of those is a good indication that it is high-time to call a service. After all, you don’t want to wait until your door malfunctions and causes significant damage.

Garage door springs are one of the most dangerous but integral parts of the garage door system. When it comes to garage door repair they are easily the number one thing that you want to hand off to the professionals. If you look online for things like tutorials or videos on how to do the repair it won’t take long for you to see why they are not for the layman. Any garage door repair concerning your garage door spring is going to be not only a dangerous affair, but it might also end up being too difficult for the average garage door owner.

Garage door springs are tightly wound pieces of metal that help your garage door opener open and close a lot more easily without having to deal with all the weight that your garage door actually has. This means that they have a lot of pressure on them and if they snap they can do a whole lot of damage to anything that happens to be around. Garage door springs can be pretty finicky and tough to replace unless you really know what you are doing, which is why most people suggest getting a professional with experience to help remove old springs and install new ones.

Garage springs are under a lot of pressure and so if twisted too much one way or handled incorrectly they can uncoil and release all of that force in a matter of moments. And there are few things you want flying around your garage at high speeds less than a big metal rod.

The reason that garage door springs are one of the more common garage door repairs is also because of all the pressure and all that heavy lifting they help with. Garage door springs have to be made in such a way that they can’t last as long as a lot of the other things that make your garage door opener operate. They are only rated for a certain number of opening cycles and after that they tend to snap or break with a loud bang. This is why it is one of the more common garage door repairs that you will hear about.

While garage door springs do break, the repair is not all that costly. It is an important piece of your garage door opening system, but because the experience is the main thing that the installer needs it takes a lot less time for a professional to do the job and you end up wasting a lot less time. The labor is for the most part what you are looking for and so getting a professional to do the job is definitely worthwhile.

Miniatures Crafts and paintings are lovely handcrafted arts, which are colourful and small in size. The details in the picture are given more importance than the picture itself. One of the highlights of miniature art is the delicate brushwork. The details of the art show the identity of the artwork. Most of the colours used in the painting are handmade. They are made from vegetables, minerals, indigo, precious stones, and conch shells, silver, and pure gold. In India, some of the common types of Miniature painting are musical codes called as Ragas.

These type of painting are very small and delicate. It is just not just a tiny piece of art, but the details of the paintings are very intricate. There are many rules which are created to act as guidelines for miniature painting. The paintings must not be more than 25 square inches, and the subject in the artwork must not be more than one-sixth of its actual size of the picture.

Previously these artworks were not just about size. The detailing in the artwork was a significant part of the picture. Even when you see through a magnifying glass, you must be able to see the subtle brush marks with intricate design. Many techniques like stippling, hatching, and glazing are used in this kind of painting. The perspective, Composition, and colour are as significant as in larger pictures.

Miniature Craft Projects That Will Melt Your Heart

The following are some of the miniature craft projects that will melt your heart:

Glitter Magnets:

These are very easy to make, and you can decorate your fridge or office space with these glitter magnets. All you need is tiny magnets, glue, glitter and clear enamel coat. Make sure that you have glitter in different colours so that it will look good when you place it in the fridge.

Take the magnet and apply some glue on one of its surfaces and then put glitter on the glue. Repeat the same procedure for the other magnets and when they all dry up, coat the magnets with a transparent enamel and let it dry. Once these are dry, you can stick them where ever you want.

Tiny books:

To make tiny books, you will need white papers, scissors, colourful sheets which are thicker than the white papers. After you get everything you need, cut out the white sheets in the size you want and then bind them together by either stitching them or by sticking them with glue. Once the books are created, let them dry. Now you need to cut out the colourful covers and then stick them on these tiny notes to make it looks like its cover.

Bud vases:

If you are wondering what to do with your old and empty nail polish bottles, you can use them to make miniature bud vases. All you have to do is clean the polish out of the bottle and then paint it with different colours and then use it as a vase.

Miniature art is kind of a fine Specialty Art. Many artists have the ability and skill to work on big artworks, but very few have the discipline and talent to work on smaller pieces of artwork. One truly needs great skill to work on such minute details. The artwork is not about the size, it is about the details in the picture. You can differentiate a normal painting with a miniature portrait by the level of details in them.

To become a miniature artist you need to have excellent hand coordination, patience, and time. A piece of artwork is considered as a good miniature painting when even if it is magnified several times it must still hold together as an extraordinary piece of art.

Most of the artworks are handmade, and they are very colourful and minute, but at the same time, it is very detailed. These paintings have an excellent brushwork. They are done intricately and delicately, and this gives the art a unique identity.

What is Miniature Painting

History of Miniature paintings:

Miniature paintings are quite popular in India, and the evolution of such artwork started around the 17th century in Western Himalayas.  The mural paintings greatly influenced the Miniature artwork. These mural paintings were originated during the second part of the 18th century; this was the time when the Mughals ruled the northern part of India. The Mughal kings were said to be responsible for bringing in Persian art tradition in the form of Miniature art in India.

The artworks are usually painted on surfaces of materials like Lambskin and Ivory. For portraits people generally use ivory, but as there were many restrictions on ivory, they started to use other materials have taken the place of ivory. Casein, Watercolours, tempura, acrylics, and oil paints are some of the other conventional mediums that were used for miniature painting.

Transparent watercolour is coated on the painting to give a luminance look. Artists use multiple layers of translucent colours to achieve various colours in the picture.

Exhibitions:

There are many art societies which are keen on preserving and promoting traditional miniature artworks. Western societies conduct exhibitions that feature the handheld paintings and sculptures. Each and every display will have different rules and guidelines for painters who show in their exhibit.  Sometimes rules are made in such a way that the size of the painting must not be bigger than a set square inch.

Some rules have restrictions on the size of the subjects like the 1/6th scale rule where the object in the artwork must not be painted bigger than 1/6th of its natural size. You also have the 2” rule, that a subject in the picture must not exceed 2”. Most of these scale rules were initially used to keep the artists in tracks, and now they have become guidelines.
